JROTC Ball / Military Award Ceremony

On Friday March 9th, 2018, Lee Central High School JROTC department held their first annual JROTC Military Ball / Award Ceremony at Lee Central High School. The ceremony were led by MAJ Cobbs and SFC Woodland. Great support were received by Dr Andrews, Principal Turner, Mr Kelvin Wilson and a few members of the LCHS Booster Club. This formal event was filled with honor and excitement as Cadets received individual awards / honors for all of the hard work they have done.

Lee Central High School's "Mathletes" Participate in the Pee Dee Regional Mathematics Tournament

Lee Central High School participated in the challenging 41st Pee Dee Regional Mathematics Tournament at Francis Marion University on December 5th of 2017. Nine students and two coaches represented the “Mathletes” team at the competition. The competition has grown in scope and competitiveness over the years with 22 schools and approximately 330 students from the Pee Dee area taking part in this annual celebration of mathematics. The math team was comprised of Jay-Monte Belin, Martin Barron-Romero, Owen Lewis, John Holloman, Ty’Rique Jones, Donte Moses, Shakyra Gilford, Shakil McCray, and Juanita Hickmon. They were accompanied by coaches Mark Davidson and Alberto Madilo. Congratulations go to Juanita Hickmon with a team high score and Honorable Mention.

Congratulations to the LCHS Academic Challenge Team on their Win!!!

Lee Central's Academic Challenge Team beat out Scott's Branch High School with a score 11 to 6 at Wednesday's Academic Challenge match. Kudos to Brittany Morant, Shakira Brailsford, Christian LeGrant, Hakeem Morris, Destiny Johnson, L'Shaun Woods, Shakil McCray, Lamont Solomon, David Boxter, Omani Stadard, Trinity Boney, Hanna Florio, and Reya Buffkin.

February is Black History Month!!!!

The celebration of Black History Month began as “Negro History Week,” which was created in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson, a noted African American historian, scholar, educator, and publisher. It became a month-long celebration in 1976. The month of February was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.
