ALL schools and offices CLOSED on Tuesday, January 9, 2024
Due to the probability of high winds and strong wind gusts in excess of 45 mph resulting from the Winter Storm FINN all schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. This day will be designated as an eLearning day for students and staff members in the district. Moreover, all afterschool programs, fieldtrips and extracurricular activities we will be canceled as well.
Because we are an eLearning district, this day will not have to be made up. Lessons and assignments will be posted in each teacher’s virtual classroom. Students will be required to complete all eLearning assignments later if they aren’t able to participate due to power outages, lack of internet service, or other barriers.
In order to ensure the safety of our students and staff, Lee County School District works collaboratively with the County Emergency Management Team and the Sheriff Department when making decisions regarding inclement weather in our community. Although the forecast could change, we wanted to give our families and staff members enough advance notice to prepare for the inclement weather.
Please remain safe.
