Coaches

My name is Patrice Holmes, and I served as the Physical Education Teacher and Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach at Lee Central High School.
I hold a Bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Health and Coaching. I have been teaching at Lee Central High School for 8 years. My hobbies include spending time with my family, playing different sports, watching movies, and traveling.
I chose to join Lee Central High School because I wanted to be part of a team that values relationships, lifts students up, and understands the importance of preparing young people for life beyond the classroom. It is a place where my passion for teaching, mentoring, and building meaningful connections can truly make a difference.
What I enjoy most about being around students is seeing their potential unfold each day. I appreciate their energy, honesty, and watching them overcome obstacles. Seeing them discover new strengths and celebrating their personal development is what I find most fulfilling about my profession.
I believe students should strive to believe in their own abilities, stay open to learning, and take ownership of their future. I encourage them to set goals that reflect both who they are now and who they hope to become. Whether that means pushing themselves academically, becoming better leaders, or showing kindness in their daily interactions, I want them to know that their choices today build the foundation for the opportunities they will have tomorrow.
One of my favorite quotes is, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world," by Nelson Mandela. It reminds me that education gives people the skills to advocate for themselves, leading to social change and the ability to earn a better living.
If there is anything else I’d like to share, it is: I am deeply committed to fostering an environment where students feel supported, respected, and seen. My goal is to encourage them to step outside their comfort zones, discover their unique strengths, and trust that they are capable of more than they realize.
